Househam Henderson went to the University of Portsmouth to select the winner of The Chris Henderson Drawing Prize 2017. Israel Abam won the prize last year, with his end of year project that was based in Winchester, near one of our offices.
It was great to see another a series of beautifully executed submissions by students who put in a lot of effort and time into their work. The use of hand drawings to really investigate architectural design is critical. Students demonstrated consideration, explored scale and movement as well as experimenting with representation. We are grateful to the students and also the lecturers for their time and effort.
The winner for this second edition of The Chris Henderson Drawing Prize a student from the University of Portsmouth was awarded. Our jury, comprising Househam Henderson staff and academic staff from the university, were delighted to announce that the decision was made and in early July, Jessica Morrey was officially handed her certificate along with a cheque of £500.
We extend our congratulations to Jessica and wish her all the best for the future.
